Oxbridge Information

We aim to offer specific targeted support for all our students. An example of this is the tailored programme of guidance for potential Oxbridge candidates.

Below is a summary of the programme we provide across the course of Years 11-13 for potential Oxbridge students. We seek to make high-achieving students aware, to encourage ambitious planning, and provide support for those who wish to make an application.

Year 11: In March, high achievers are identified. These students meet Dr. Organ, Brasenose College Oxford, who introduces them to the idea of Oxbridge and why this might be something to aim for.

Year 12: In January, students have the option of a residential visit to St Catharine’s College, Cambridge.

A Post-18 choices conference in March offers potential Oxbridgers to meet Dr. Organ to go through making an application, and areas to focus on to support an application.

In July, there is a visit to Oxford for potential Oxbridge applicants.

Year 13: In September. students receive pre- interview coaching.  Students who are making an application meet Dr. Organ to go through the interview process and ask any last -minute questions.

In October/November, the Sixth Form team arrange mock interviews with department staff for applicants invited to interview.
