Due to the family atmosphere, Pepys’ are loyal to their house and work hard to achieve success throughout the wide variety of activities that Pepys himself enjoyed; music, theatre, mathematics, literature and public speaking. As a secretary to Edward Montagu, Samuel Pepys’ work ethic and organisation led him to be highly successful and in turn respected by many. He documented with great pleasure his own personal achievements and also in infinite detail great historical event in his infamous ‘diary’. Later in life Samuel Pepys worked as an advisor and instituted a mathematical scholarship to inspire young navy officers.
