Reminder of Entrance Requirements
-
To join our Sixth Form in September 2025, you must achieve 5 x GCSEs at grade 5 or higher, including maths and English literature/English language. Alternative, you can get 5 x grade 5s, PLUS a 4 in maths and English. You must also gain the subject entrance requirements (see below). Please note that a 'Merit' in an applied subject is the equivalent of a 5 at GCSE.
-
Please note, due to the number of applications we receive each year, we do not deviate from our entrance requirements. We therefore highly recommend that any student who believes that their grades will be close to our requirements has an alternative pathway organised, in case they are disappointed on results day. Students who are currently at Hinchingbrooke School will have access to the Careers Team who will be able to advise you if needed.

. Please check your grades against our entrance requirements before you accept your place.
Please note that the onboarding is a huge job for the Sixth Form and Admin teams and we thank you in advance for your patience in the week of the results and the week afterwards.
If you have the qualifications to join us, we strongly recommend that you accept your place, even if you are not 100% sure that you will take it up. This is because it may not be available if you decline, but then change your mind in the few days following results day.
We wish everyone the best of luck this summer. Please note that the Sixth Form closes between 22nd July and 20th August for GCSE queries.
With best wishes,
Mrs Rix and the Sixth Form team
