Summer Ball

The Sixth Form Summer Ball happened on July 3rd.

The Sixth Form Summer Ball happened on July 3rd. It was a glorious evening – in terms of weather, music, atmosphere, and the students looked stunning in their suits and gowns. The students and other guests arrived to the sound of the 17 piece swing band creating a sophisticated but fun and upbeat tone to the Ball opening, and most of the attendees wanted to spend a considerable length of time loitering in the majestic setting of the Gate House by the Apostles’ Lawn whilst the photographer took highly stylised shots. Once inside the House the photo booth was hugely popular, the ‘pick and mix’ sweet bar provided a fair amount of energy for dancing in the marquee, whilst the Jazz band in the Inner Hall set a mature and slightly more mellow mood in the House. The House itself was a beautiful backdrop for the evening, enhanced by the balloons and flowers that the Summer Ball committee had artistically arranged themselves. There was croquet, giant Jenga, a coconut shy, and a casino. The teachers commented on how charming and warm the students were, and the students were even more effusive about what a pleasure it was to see the teachers in such a relaxed frame of mind. It really was a beautiful and memorable evening.
