Talking to Your Child Workshop

13 February 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

Year 7 Relationship Education – Talking to Your Child Workshop

At Hinchingbrooke School we work with different partnerships, one of them being Dhiverse, the sexual health charity for Cambridgeshire.  This charity works with young people to provide information and support around sexual health, consent, relationships, online safety, sexuality and body image/self-esteem.

Dhiverse have a new programme ‘RSE - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly’ which aims to help and support parents/carers to feel more equipped to have open and ongoing conversations with their children about all of these topics, without feeling embarrassed or uneasy.

They are offering an interactive and informal workshop for parents/carers of Year 7 students on ‘Talking to your Child about Sex’, which will look at issues such as:

  • Feelings about talking about sex
  • Use of accurate language in talking about sex with children
  • Puberty, periods, masturbation
  • Difficult questions
  • LGBT, sexualities, genders

The workshop will be held on Thursday 5 March 2020 at 5.30-7pm in the Assembly Room of the House.  There are a limited number of places for the workshop.  If you would like to join this session, please complete the slip below and return to the Lower School Office.

Yours sincerely
