Hinchingbrooke School Science Department is pleased to announce the inaugural Science Society talk on Thursday 10th October at 7.00pm in the Hinchingbrooke House Library. The visiting speaker is Dr Cahir O'Kane from the Dept of Genetics, University of Cambridge, who will be presenting a talk on genetics. The talk is primarily aimed at year 10 and 11 and A level students. However, anyone with an interest in genetics is welcome to attend.

Hinchingbrooke has recently undergone a number of changes to enhance the way in which the school operates.
One significant change for students and staff is the introduction of ‘Lesson Monitor’. This system enables staff to record a quick assessment of each student’s ‘Attitude to Learning’ in every lesson.

A Year 7 "Meet the Tutor" evening will be held on Tuesday 8th October from 7 – 8 pm. The aim of the evening is to tell you a bit more about some of the systems at our school and to introduce you to form tutors. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet your child’s form tutor and discuss how well they are settling in at Hinchingbrooke.

To embrace National Dyslexia Awareness week (14th - 20th October 2013), we will be hosting the second Cambridge Dyslexia Exhibition on Saturday 19th October at The Shirley Centre, Shirley Primary School, Nuffield Road, Cambridge from 10am-4:30pm.
The first of our Personal Development (PD) days, will take place on Thursday 26 September. You may be aware that we have decided to suspend our normal timetable on four days this year, in order to focus on helping students develop some of the key personal skills they will need to be successful learners both in school and when they leave to complete further study and (ultimately) employment. We undertook an extensive review of our curriculum last year, and a small group of staff have worked extremely hard since then to bring this first day to fruition.
