Lord’s Taverners and Schools Boccia Finals 2015

Hinchingbrooke Boccia team come 7th in Sheffield Championships.

Hinchingbrooke’s Boccia team represented the Eastern region in the Lord’s Taverners and Schools Boccia Finals in Sheffield having won the County and Regional titles along the way.

The team consisted of Jabe Peake, Tom Mayers and Harry Parker supported by a number of school staff and the players’ families.

The team played Wood Green School, West Midlands; St. Giles School, London and Queen Elizabeth School, South West. They won 13-0 against one and played 2 very close games losing 2-4 and 2-5.

The results meant that Hinchingbrooke competed against Arbour Vale School from the Central region in the 7th and 8th place play-off match. The team once again found some form and finished off the competition in style with a 7-2 victory which secured them a 7th place finish overall in the competition. This is an amazing achievement considering that over 500 schools from across the country started off in the competition.

Jabe also took part in some training in Sheffield as he is now on the fast track for the next Paralympics.
