Hinchingbrooke Students Remember ....

On 11th November Hinchingbrooke students and staff took time to remember those men and woman who have lost their lives fighting for their country.

During a very moving service, sixth form students read out the names and details of former Hinchingbrooke students from a  roll of honour hanging in the entrance hall to Hinchingbrooke House which commemorates the schools “old boys” who had fallen in the two world wars.  This year, sixth former Lucy Felce gave the reading and the “Last Post” was played by Zoe Perkins, a year 11 student, to mark the period of silence. The sound of the

trumpet echoed through the halls of the house adding poignancy to the ceremony.

The Principal Andrew Goulding led a prayer and students also remembered Hinchingbrooke student Ellie Keeling who died tragically this year.

A new  “Theme of the Week” has been introduced in school which will provide a focus for pertinent topics or issues for the whole school community.  These themes will help to reinforce our values and promote a strong and supportive ethos, as well as making everyone aware of the issues of the moment. This week the topic is Remembrance Day. Please see the poster below that will be the focus for discussion with students.
