Musicians' Assembly - 22nd October 2012

In Monday 22 October at 8.40am in the Performing Arts Centre we are holding a Musicians’ Assembly, which will be led by Mr Goulding and the Music Department teaching team. It is vitally important that all students who are involved with music in any way in school should attend and I would ask you to make sure that your son or daughter makes a note of the date in their planner to ensure they do not forget to attend.

Students who must come are:

  • All those who are taking Music and Music Technology at GCSE and A level
  • All students who are learning to play a musical instrument in or out of school
  • All students who attend a musical extra – curricular activity such as Concert Band, HBK Singers, Guitar Orchestra, Rhythms of Egypt and Folk Band.
  • All students who attend a musical activity outside of school – e.g. at Hunts Regional College.

I have a list of approximately 180 students who fall into the above categories, that I am aware of, but know that there are many more in school who play an instrument, that we do not know about! We would very much like to welcome these students into the musical family at Hinchingbrooke but need to know who they are. We are very keen to nurture musical talent in school, in a non -threatening and celebratory environment and hope that all those who join us have fun in their music making.

If you have any questions about music making in school please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Liz Mummery

Head of Music.
