Hinchingbrooke School

Week B Commencing 16th July 2018

Message of the Week

Welcome to week 13, the final full week of the summer term. It seems like a quieter week as we wind down towards the end of term, but behind the scenes there’s a flurry of activity as we try to get as much as possible ready for the fresh start in September.  With 20 new staff, 300 new students and a plethora of plans for an exciting academic year, there’s no time to relax.

We are very proud of Jabe Peake, a superb Boccia player, who has been selected in the Most Determined category for 2018 TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) Stars Awards

Fourteen national TASS-supported athletes from a range of sports have been shortlisted from scores of nominations showcasing the student athletes’ successes both on and off the field.

Jabe will find out whether he has won at the presentation afternoon this Saturday, 21st July.

The Inter House Reading Challenge – Book Bingo: the results are in!

Well done to all students who participated and contributed towards the House totals.

THEME FOR THE WEEK

This week, we introduce a new theme: helping each other to be happy.  Sometimes, we don’t realise what a difference we can make to someone else’s day, just by smiling, or saying something nice.

Golden Antler Winners

Every week, the tutor groups with the highest number of 5s (for great attitudes to learning) are awarded a Golden Antler trophy.  Following the award of the trophy, the tutor arranges for a celebratory photograph to be taken.  It is then displayed around school.

Last week, the Lower School Golden Antlers winner was …

… 7C2, well done to Cromwell for securing the trophy this week.

And winner of the Middle School Golden Antlers was …

…9P2.   A win again for Pepys.

Well done to both tutor groups and we look forward to more winners and photographs in September!
