U13 Girls ESFA Cup Round 4 (L64) vs St George's Academy

Captain’s Report – Clara

The super HBK Year 8 girls have made it through to the last 32 in the NATIONAL CUP.

HBK played a very strong St George’s school from Lincolnshire and battled through to reach a win on penalties. HBK showed great resilience after going 1-0 down, Clara then scored 2 goals in quick succession to make it 2-1 with 15 minutes to play. Dede then pulled off some fantastic saves and the defence remained solid but finally succumbed and conceded a goal in the final minutes to lead to penalties.

The girls held their nerve to slot their penalties away, the game then went into sudden death, more penalties were scored but to win the game Dede made an outstanding save to send the girls through to the next round.

Opponents’ player of the match was Cataleya who played a brilliant game, Sophie was very strong playing against some tricky wingers. Overall, I am very proud with how we played and can’t wait for the next round!!
