U18 Boys ESFA Cup Round 1 vs The Perse 

 

On a sunny and blustery afternoon, the U18's travelled to The Perse to kick off their ESFA Cup campaign. It was a slow start to the game as we struggled to maintain possession, but once we got the first goal through Quenet, the game opened up, our quality and intensity improved and we piled on the pressure before doubling our lead just before half time as Griffiths and Quenet combined.

At the start of the second half, Quenet scored his second of the afternoon after pressing the goalkeeper and closing down his clearance. The goal of the day came from Bruce who volleyed home from 10 yards following a deep Masvipurwa corner. Quenet then completed his hat trick, quickly followed by Masvipurwa scoring on debut after latching onto a pass from fellow debutant Lopez.

The Perse got a goal back after a defensive mix-up, but it was a comfortable victory as we build into the new season and look to make it all the way to Wembley for the final. We have another away fixture to come in Round 2 against either Springwood or Neale Wade.
