Head of Maths

(TLR 1b £9,475)

Required for September 2018

(or earlier if possible)

Hinchingbrooke School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational leader for our strong and talented Maths department.

You will be an outstanding professional who can contribute to an excellent team, achieving equally impressive results.  The department is innovative and forward thinking, containing 2 Specialist Leaders of Education and the creator of the PiXL Maths App (a Maths application used in over 1200 schools nationally). We are looking for a highly committed team player, with a passion for mathematics and an understanding of the strategies required to motivate and inspire students.

The successful candidate will lead a collaborative department of 15 teachers with a range of expertise and skills, managed by the Head of the Core Faculty (Assistant Principal). Your leadership will be supported by 2 Maths Leaders, 3 Key Stage Co-ordinators and 2 dedicated HLTAs.  From the moment you join us you will feel welcomed and supported by a team ranging from NQTs through to highly experienced practitioners.

Maths is a popular subject post-16 where we offer both A level and Further Maths. Last year, following a sustained period of consistent improvement, the department went against the national trend by improving their headline results. The leader we are looking for will galvanise the expertise and enthusiasm of the department to secure excellent outcomes at all key stages and to build on the successes of last year’s exam results. We seek someone with the drive and passion to share high quality and innovative practice in the classroom.

We welcome applications from candidates who are student focused and passionate about sharing their own love of Mathematics with our diverse and inclusive student body.
