Along with the students’ regular club weeks, Enrichment activities have continued to prove interesting and relevant. Guest speakers have presented on topics including Breast & Testicular cancer, MIND raising awareness with a specific focus on youth mental health issues and a First Aid taster.

The Collapsed day on 12th February expanded on the theme of ‘Wellbeing’ which runs through the Enrichment programme, with sixth form specific activities. Y12 had a sexual health talk and sessions from the Safe Academy. These sessions explored Understanding Urban Areas, Sexual Offence awareness, Peer Pressure, Cyber Bullying, Dangers of the internet, Street Crime, Crime Prevention and Alcohol and drug awareness. The ex-policemen who founded and run the Safe Academy were keen to share some of their own real-life experiences with students and staff!

Y13’s day was centred on survival in ‘the big wide world’. Students were given the opportunity to try various practical skills such as food safety and cooking, we heard the Bolognese sauce that was made was delicious.Students also took part in a mindfulness session run by a yoga teacher where they learnt the value of relaxation and ways to de-stress. Another session gave them the opportunity to consider money matters, where there was even some talk about pension planning and mortgages. The day concluded with all students coming up with a charter for wellbeing for staff and students at Hinchingbrooke. There were some excellent ideas which we hope to follow up on… although maybe not the idea of a Sixth Form pet horse!
