You are invited to meet your son’s /daughter’s subject teachers and to discuss his/her progress.

Members of staff will be present from 4.30pm to 7.00pm on Thursday 15 May. For this Parents’ Evening, we are using our on-line booking system. Once you have decided which teachers you wish to see, please use the instructions below to access the system. We hope that this will make the process easier for you.

They will be bringing home a sheet that lets them know what grade they got and where their weaknesses are. It will also highlight areas they need to improve on ready for the exams. Please ask them to show it to you.

The Year 9 Exam booklet, which has come home with students requires some amendments with respect to the science topics that will be covered in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics exams. A corrected version of the booklet with the topics covered can be found below. The details of the corrections are also listed for your information:

On 4th February there is a Key Stage 4 Options evening for all parents/carers of year 9 students. The evening starts at 7.00pm and is expected to finish by 9.00pm. Your son / daughter is also welcome to attend if they wish. However, there will be events in school to support their choices.

Please find attached information about the Year 8 preferences process. In year 9, we offer a programme whereby students are taught core subjects but are also able to choose three subjects that they have a particular interest in.

The Government is giving money to schools to help children from lower income families do their very best. This funding is called a ‘Pupil Premium’. For every child registered, Hinchingbrooke School receives a payment.

To enable your child’s school to claim the Pupil Premium, you will need to inform the school about your child and provide supporting evidence, for example, show the school the original Adoption (Court) Order. You will need to self-declare before 16 January 2014 which is the date schools complete the annual School Census. This will then trigger the payment of the Pupil Premium to the school from April 2014.

All students who study music GCSE, BTEC and A Level Music and Music Technology are expected to participate, and of course all other students from all years are warmly welcome, in order to broaden their musical experiences.  So often I hear from students, after an extremely successful event, that they wished they had participated! Well, now is the opportunity to make sure they don’t miss out on what promises to be a spectacular evening.

same examination, then only the first result will count as the students' grade in that examination. I am writing to let you

Middle School German Exchange for years 9,10,11,12 & 13

We would like to encourage your son/daughter to participate in our highly successful exchange which has been running for over twenty years. We make every effort to match our pupils according to age and interest. Over the years many long-term friendships have been established between pupils and families in the two countries.
