Hinchingbrooke School

Week A Commencing 17th September 2018

Message of the Week

Welcome to week 3 of the new academic year.  It has been inspiring to see how well our Year 7 students have begun their journey with us over the last fortnight. Many of them are already taking an active part in the school, for example through joining extra-curricular clubs or auditioning for plays. It is lovely to know that the future of Hinchingbrooke is so bright.

One of the ways we help students to be more independent is by setting homework for all years and all subjects in Doddle.  We are proud to announce that we have been awarded ‘Centre of Excellence’ by Doddle for outstanding work with this provider, which many parents will know allows us all – parents, teachers and students - to monitor student progress with homework.

Andrew Goulding accepts the Doddle plaque awarded for excellence at Hinchingbrooke School

This week, our Theme for the Week is a reminder for all students that we have one school rule: Respect.

Golden Antler Winners

Every week, the tutor groups with the highest number of 5s (for great attitudes to learning) are awarded a Golden Antler trophy.  Following the award of the trophy, the tutor arranges for a celebratory photograph to be taken.  It is then displayed around school.

Last year’s overall winners were Pepys – in both Lower and Middle School.  Well done to Pepys!

In the first full week of the new academic year, the Lower School Golden Antlers winner was …

7V1.  Well done to all the new students in this form group.

And winner of the Middle School Golden Antlers was …

…9W2.   another win for Vesey.

Well done to both tutor groups and a great start for Vesey.  We look forward to photographs next week!
