Veteran Day Godmanchester 16th May

Godmanchester Bomber Command

Veterans Day

16th May 2015

10.30 am - 4.00 pm

QE School (near the Chinese Bridge)

Roger Leivers has organised the day to raise money towards a memorial at the crash site of a Stirling Bomber that came down on 11th April 1942, with the loss of two lives, as well as raising money towards the upkeep of the Bomber Command Memorial in London.

The other objective of the day is to give today’s children the opportunity of meeting these great men and to talk to them and have their pictures taken. Every week we lose more of these veterans, but their memories can live on in the children of today. Children who will one day be Grandfathers themselves and can say

‘I met the bomber boys’

Entry to event for children is free, for adults its £2 per person. ALL the money raised goes towards the memorials.

In addition there will be a number of exhibitors in the main hall to add to the day’s entertainment.

I would be most grateful if you could let parents know of the event.
