On Monday 18th November 35 Year 12 and 13 students were lucky enough to tour the beautiful Palace of Westminster and have a debate with Huntingdon’s very own MP, Jonathan Djanogly.  The Politics, Law and Global Perspectives students got to stand in the House of Lords and the House of Commons – as we weren’t allowed to sit on the red and green leather seats!  Many commented that it …”looked much smaller than on the telly!”  They were treated to the history of the building and then had a 40 minute session to lock horns with the local MP.  Some great questions were asked, and Jonathan was able to give us his opinions on the new management structure at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, the new plans to regenerate Huntingdon Town Centre in addition to his views on proportional representation.  We were located in the beautiful select committee rooms right at the top of the palace…which proved to be a long climb for some of these sixth form students!  Many thanks to Mrs Howells who joined the trip at the eleventh hour!
