The aims of the Department
We aim to equip our students with the neccessary knowledge and evidence for them to question their own responses, ideas and common sense assumptions. Students will be encouraged to examine evidence from both a methodological and a theoretical perspective. Students will discover the ideologies and approaches which underlie Politics, Sociology, Psychology and the Caring Professions(Health and Social Care) and to be able to apply these to every day life. In the course of their studies they will be coached to use ICT effectively, to take part in discussions, to read the latest research and to develop the skills necessary to succeed in their examinations.
