There are several routes through science at KS4:

(click on the highlighted parts for more information including exam dates)

Year 10

In Year 10 the majority of students will study Core Science - 21st Century OCR.

A selected group of students will follow the Triple Science (OCR 21st Century Science):

Each GCSE comprises seven modules and coursework.  Exams in June Y10, January and June in Y11.

Year 11

In Year 11 those students who have followed Core Science will have one of two options

Additional Science: this builds on the Core, and gives a second Science GCSE

It is suitable for pupils thinking of studying science at A level.

or            Applied Science: Also builds on Core giving a separate "Applied Science" GCSE

This applies science to everyday life and work.

It is suitable for all pupils, but is not an A-level science qualification.

The two common routes are "Core + Additional" and "Core + Applied".

The students who have been studying Triple will continue this course in Year 11
