Welcome to Philosophy Club

THURSDAY LUNCH TIME in ROOM 15

Introduction | This Week | Past Weeks

This is a club designed to allow students lower down in the school access some of the more challenging quesitons which philosophers have considered over the centuries! Each week we will be considering a different topic and considering a different philosopher or school of philosophy.

Anyone is welcome to attend! If you have any suggestions for topics, please do send them in!

See you there!

Mr. Winter

(p.s. If you are worried about your lunch, don't worry you can bring that with you!!)

This Week's Topic!

Euthanasia is acceptable because there is no provable purpose or meaning to life!

We will be looking at ideas of purpose and meaning to life. Is it possible to claim there is a meaning to life? If so why? Does it have to come from a religious background? Is it still possible to have a purpose without a universal truth?

Philosophers: Turgenev, Nietzsche, Camus
