1st XV

The 1st XV have had an incredibly sucessful season so far!  Having beaten Brooke Weston College 76-7 in their first game in the Daily Mail Cup, their cup run was prolonged, thanks to victory's against Longsands and Samuel Whitbread CC.

The cup dream came to an end against strong opposition in the form of Haileybury, in the 4th Round.  They boasted several England development players in their ranks, and proved to be too strong.  However, the squad did themselves proud, scoring a try in front of the away fans.

The season has progressed well and the team continue to train and work hard, with a regular and busy fixture list, giving a competative fixture every Wednesday.

1st XV is every Monday at 3.30, with members of Yr 11 welcome to come and challenge for places, while developing their Rugby knowledge and skills.

Captains Corner.....

When entering Hinchingbrooke Sixth Form, there are great opportunities to take part in sport and represent the sixth form; rugby is one of these chances.

Rugby currently, takes place on Monday’s after school, and Wednesday after lunch.

It’s a great way to relieve the stress of hard work and examinations!

Although I missed half the season, due to injury, the guys performances have been of the highest standard grinding out victories against local, county and national schools.

The profile of the rugby team has rose considerably this year after managing to get to the 4th round of the prestigious Daily Mail Cup. Although we lost, we did the school proud.

We are also entered into several rugby sevens competitions, where you are able to represent the school against national teams in fast-flowing, exciting rugby.  The team has an exciting future, with a number of year elevens already pushing for first team places.

The raised profile of Rugby Union within school has allowed extended extra curricular time being offered for the development of skills for the 6th Form players.

In addition we are proud to announce that the 1st XV has recently been given a brand new kit, funded in partnership with Lafarge.
