Year 10 Work Experience 2012/13

Due to these difficult economic times many schools, that previously offered a work experience placement to all of its Year 10 students, cannot do so for this academic year, and onwards. Funding cutbacks have considerably increased the cost of the Connexions service, so we will not be able to utilise them in providing support to work placement schemes. However, Hinchingbrooke worked in a pilot partnership with St Peters and Longsands School Academies, to trial a program to continue Work Experience for the whole of year 10, for 2011/12.

As a result of the success of this pilot we will be continuing to work in partnership for our year 10 students in 2012/13.

Hinchingbrooke School Academy believes in the real benefits of work experience to all our Year 10 students. We have endeavoured to be in a position, through internal and external experience in running these schemes, to provide the platform to place over 300 students in a work placement over the 2 week period as below. Please note, in the light of ongoing cutbacks and ‘The Wolf review’ on ‘Vocational Education and Work Related Learning’, this position will be open to review for the future.
