Year 7 Infomation Evening - 7pm Tuesday 9th October 2012
I am writing to inform you that we are holding a Year 7 event on Tuesday 9th October. The aim of the evening is to tell you a bit more about someof the systems at our school and to introduce you to form tutors. The evening commences at 7pm in the PAC (The Performing Arts Centre near lower school). This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet your child’s form tutor and discuss how well they are settling in at Hinchingbrooke.
At 7.00pm the Principal, Mr Goulding, will welcome you. This will be followed by introductions to the Caythorpe Residential Trip and to the Transition team. At 7.20pm you will be invited to move to one of our classrooms in lower school in order to meet more informally with your child’s form tutor. Tutors will be talking to parents collectively about issues relevant to Year 7 and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. The evening will close at 8pm.
We hope that you will join us for this event, taking the opportunity to get to know your child’s tutor and learn more about life at Hinchingbrooke. Whilst we always welcome questions regarding pupils, I must stress that this is not a parents’ evening consultation, and if you have any specific concerns you should contact the appropriate member of staff at a different time. If you or your child feels that it would be beneficial for them to also be present, then they are most welcome to attend. However, this is in no way compulsory.
We would like to thank you all for your help in making the start of Year 7 go smoothly. Through attending this evening and meeting the form tutors properly, we are hopeful that a successful partnership will continue.
