Cool but absolutely useless graphic, hey? Bring out the gouda cheese...

Please note that due to legal restrictions, we are unable to give both a photograph and pupil names online.  The wording for this parliamentary act is as follows:

"On no account should either first names or surnames be attached to photos on websites. If photos are used, ensure the file name does not contain the name of the student."

Mr. Ainslie was appointed the Head of Montagu House at the start of the Spring Term of 2007.  He is in his second year of teaching, both of which have been at Hinchingbrooke School.  Mr. Ainslie 'fell for the school' when he completed the first portion of his teacher training under the guidance of Mr. Chester (Head of RE).

Mr. Ainslie's University studies focussed on many things at various places, but specifically Biblical Studies with Biblical/Ancient Languages, hence why he is teaching A-Level Religious Studies, A-Level and KS4 Philosophy, KS3 Religious Studies and KS3 Classics.  Mr. Ainslie loves teaching (due to it being the most stressful, yet rewarding job at the same time).  Mr. Ainslie also thinks that Montagu House are greater than a mixture of DangerMouse, Bananaman and the Pilsbury Doughnut Boy (wow).

The last bit is obvious though - everyone knows that.

This Sixth Former is a very academic and sporty pupil and is sure to provide a very strong role model for all Montagu pupils.  She is passionate to help Montagu along the arduous road of success and may even find herself shouting taunts of 'Montagu Rule' at her cousin (Vesey Captain).  This should be fun at Sport's Day!

She studies biology, maths, chemistry, and history at AS Level in Hinchingbrooke School.

Here's some information that she has written about herself:

At present I think my favourite subject is biology, because everything studied is related to everyday life, from life-threatening diseases, to the formation of D.N.A..

Being a House Captain enables you to become actively involved in helping pupils achieve their potential. You can also offer more support and encouragement in interhouse matches and suggest new ideas to get more people involved.

My main objective is to ensure that as many Montagu students as possible are involved in Interhouse, charity events, talent shows and to communicate students’ ideas to senior positions, so that school life is as enjoyable as possible. To achieve this I will suggest introducing Inter-House matches that aren’t regularly held, such as cooking competitions and charity fund raisers. I hope to build on last year's work to give Montagu the best chance of success.

I look forward to taking on the challenge!

This Sixth Former is also a very academic and sporty pupil and, as you can see below, he is desperate to kick some bottom!  At the very competitive House Captain interviews, this pupil refused to take the job of another House Captain if it were offered to him and claimed to be 'yellow through and through'.  Mr. Ainslie can testify this, especially given the volume that the two of them created at Inter-House Rounders!

Bring on Sport's Day!!!

This is what this VIth Former said about himself:

I am one of the two Montagu House Captains. I have been in Montagu since the start of school and so am very proud

to be house captain, and i hope this is reflected in my efforts as house captain throughout the following year.

I am currently studying English Literature; Philosophy; Psychology; and European History.

I am enjoying them all and i am looking forward to next year when we have a chance to really have a go at

winning those house trophies and raising LOADS more of money for charity.

I'm so proud to be Montagu House Captain and only hope that i can Montagu justice.

Yours faithfully

Montagu House Captain

This Year 13 has just finished his one year tenure as the House Captain for Montagu and, like his counter-part, has been truly amazing, giving up so much time and energy in ensuring that Montagu is continually improving in all ways possible.

He was asked to provide some information about himself and forthcoming university course, so here goes:

I am currently studing Physics, Chemistry and Maths however I have to say Physics is my favourite subject as it has parts of all my other subjects in it. I have really enjoyed all my lessons and have found them extremly worthwhile and sometimes even fun!

I think the best thing about being a House Captain is getting to know all of the younger years and helping them out and supporting them in Inter-House events.

I would like to say thankyou to everyone that has helped us throughout the past year with the organising and running of event, you have all made our lives easier and more enjoyable.

Next year I am planning to go travelling for 10 months around the world, mainly Australia and South Africa where I intend to stay and work as a windsurf instructor. After that I intend to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath. I am really looking forward to the next few years however I am going to miss everyone and wish you all well for the future.

Lastly I would like to say good luck to our succesors and also thank them for taking up the roles of Montagu House Captains. I am sure that they will do an excellent job and hopefully they will have as much fun doing it as I have!

I hope everyone has a great good summer.

History is my favourite subject as its very interesting, unpredictable and you can determine your own opinion. The course is well -structured and the lessons are made fun and enjoyable!!

Being a House Captain is one of the most important and special roles available to have in Hinchingbrooke School. The role itself is entertaining and always exciting, new events and organising inter-house allow us to meet a variety of new people which is always fun.  Building a bond between teachers and younger students unites the school more and this fills you up with pride.  Being a House Captain, especially Montagu, has been so rewarding and I couldn't have asked for a better year!!! Thank You!

In September I intend to go to Manchester University and study Social Work.  This will be a very rewarding challenge which I am throughly committed to undertaking.

JUST A THANK YOU FROM ME:

I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made my job as easy as possible. Thank you to all the students who have been committed to all the house events which we have been involved in......even if we haven't won.  I would also like to thank Mr Ainslie as, since he has come into the system, he has brought Montagu on leaps and bounds and no doubt this will continue - so , here's wishing you all the success in the future.

And lastly - good luck to our two new House Captains who thoroughly deserved their positions.....I wish you guys all the best in your new roles and in your exams!!

Have a great summer everyone :)

We would like to wish our outgoing House Captains all the best in their forthcoming studies.  We hope that they don't forget their experiences with us and, also, Mr. Ainslie hopes that they will let you email them from this website to (a) ask how they are getting on, and (b) ask what university is like.

Again - good luck to both of you.......So Long And Thanks For All The Fish!!!
