In Year 7 and Year 8, all students study either French or German.

In Year 9, students may choose to study Spanish as a second foreign langauges within a selection of ''option' subjects; Beginners courses in Japanese and Arabic are also available. End of Key Stage 3 National Curriculum Levels for Modern Foreign Languages for the students' first foreign language are reported in Year 9, at the end of Key Stage 3.

In Key Stage 4 (Years 10 amd 11), all students are encouraged to continue with one or two foreign languages, but the study of a modern foreign language is no longer compulsory. Those who continue are prepared for GCSE examinations in their chosen language(s): French, German or Spanish.
