Students at Hinchingbrooke School will be given the opportunity to take part in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Mathematics Challenge, run by the UKMT.

Junior Mathematics Challenge

30 Year 7 students

30 Year 8 students

30 Year 9 students

Intermediate Mathematics Challenge

30 Year 10 students

30 Year 11 students

These students will be selected by their results in practise Maths Challenge papers. 

Senior Mathematics Challenge

All Year 12 and 13 students taking AS or A-Level Mathematics may opt to enter.  All students studying AS and A2 Further Mathematics must take part.

Team Mathematics Challenge

The school will enter one team for the this event.  The team will consist of the top 4 of Year 8 and 9 in the preliminary round of the competition.  16 students will be invited to the Preliminary round.

Cambridgeshire Year 8 Maths Team Challenge

Two teams of 4 students each take part in the heat of this competition against other secondary schools in the surrounding area.  If the team in successful, they proceed to the final.

We are also in partnership with St Peter’s Maths Department as part of their Maths and ICT specialist Schools status, and we are in the process of developing Interschool Team Maths Challenge for as many year groups as possible.
