History is taught in two fifty-minute periods in years seven to nine.  Each year is broken down into three or more distinct units, which seek to build on and develop the areas of study dictated by the National curriculum.  We aim to have a real focus on developing not only the student’s Historical skills but also those of literacy. There are three assessments per year and from these a guide National Curriculum level is given.

Key Stage Three provides the foundation for students’ subsequent study of History.  We seek to make History one of the most dynamic subjects at Hinchingbrooke by utilising a variety of teaching and learning styles.
