The majority of students in year nine decide to study History at GCSE. We study the SHP course on the History of Medicine and the American West. You will produce two pieces of coursework. The first will be done in Year 10 and focuses on changes in society in the 18th and 19th Century by studying Wimpole Hall. In Year 11, we examine the conflict in Northern Ireland and the chance of lasting peace. We aim to make History dynamic and exciting to study. As well as written work, you will have the opportunity to debate key questions and formulate your own opinions on key issues in History. Our results are among the very best for History in the country. Students make excellent progress in this subject and for those wishing to continue their studies beyond GCSE, we would particularly recommend this subject to you.
