Meet the History Department!

Mr RG Fullard (RGF) - Head of History

Mr Fullard is a specialist in 19th-Century British Political and Social History and has a natural love of all things Chartist. He teaches all year groups, and at A-Level British 19th-century political history, Spain 1931 - 1975 and Russia from 1855 - 1964. Mr Fullard enjoys playing the guitar, and is generally rated as being incredibly amusing.

Mr MA Fordham (MAF) - Second in History

Mr Fordham is interested in early history, particularly Britain in the first millennium and Classical Greece and Rome. He teaches all year groups, and also teaches Classical Civilisation to Year 10. At A-Level he teaches Germany 1848 - 1890, Spain 1931 - 1975, Russia 1855 - 1964 and Britain in the Second World War. Mr Fordham enjoys hillwalking and climbing mountains in his spare time.

 

Miss L Cassedy (LC)

Miss Cassedy specialises in 20th century history, especially in Central and Eastern Europe since 1945. She teaches KS3, GCSE and A-Level history. At A-Level she teaches Crown, Parliament and Authority. Miss Cassedy likes music and reading.

Mr SJ Ellison (SJE) - Deputy Headteacher

Mr Ellison is interested in 19th and 20th century British history. He particularly enjoys political history, which is linked to his interest in current affairs. Whilst Mr Ellison has taught all year groups, his only History teaching this year is Year 12, where he will be teaching Representation and Reform. Out of school, he enjoys swimming and walking as well as watching sport, particularly football and cricket.

Mrs RC Hart (RCH) - Head of Cromwell House

Mrs Hart studied early modern and modern history, and is particularly interested in the history of modern philosophy. She teaches all year groups, and at A-Level teaches 20th-century America and Russia from 1855 - 1964. Mrs Hart likes listening to good music and reading historcial fiction.

 

Mrs KM Tandy (KMT) - Head of Year 7 and Transition Manager

Mrs Tandy specialises in 17th-century British History. She teaches all year groups, and at A-Level teaches Elizabeth I and James I & VI, and Oliver Cromwell. In the past she has also taught the English Civil War and the Witchcraft and Modern Russia coursework units. Mrs Tandy is a talented musician playing Piano and Cello, and singing.

Mr TR Wheeley (TRW)

Mr Wheeley specialises in the Age of Revolutions in 18th and 19th century Europe. He teaches all year groups, and at A-Level teaches on both the World and European Courses. This year he is teaching German Unification, Crown, Parliament and Authority, American Civil Rights, the Cold War, Russia from 1856 - 1964 and Oliver Cromwell's Protectorate from 1653 - 58. He has a personal interest in military history and living history. He also likes drinking fine wines.
