Unit One
Romans (European study before 1914)
The focus of this Unit is firstly how successful different Roman Emperors were in governing the Empire. Secondly we look at Roman entertainment and how this has been interpreted in History.

Norman conquest (Britain 1066 – 1500):
The focus of this unit is on how the Normans managed to firstly conquer and then control England through the creation of the Feudal system.

Unit Three
Power and Religion in Medieval England (Britain 1066 – 1500)
This unit examines the role the Church played as a form of social control and how the Black Death was a catalyst for change in attitudes.
Assessment - Was the Black Death the main cause of the 1381 Peasant's Revolt? Organisation and Communication 5a, 5b & 5c
Unit Four
From last year, we introduced a new unit examining interpretations of the Crusades from both and Islamic and Christian point of view.
