Year 10 Wales fieldtrip

The Year 10 Wales trip runs at the end of the academic year (in July) and lasts five days.  The aims of the trip are:

  • To reinforce the work covered in Year 10 on rivers, glaciation, coasts and tourism.
  • To have a super duper time
  • To learn Welsh (not always achieved by all !)

 

We stay in the Youth Hostel at Corris (http://www.corrishostel.co.uk/), a few miles north of Machynlleth in Mid-West Wales.  During our stay we, amongst other things, scale the mighty Cadair Idris looking at how glaciation has shaped the land, survey the sand spit across the Afon Mawddach and visit the Centre for Alternative Technology (http://www.cat.org.uk).
