Academic Review Day
At Hinchingbrooke School we recognise the significant benefits that partnership working between school and home can have for our students. To enable us to support our young people further we have introduced Academic Review Days. These days provide the opportunity for students to receive a bespoke interview that focusses on their academic performance.
By empowering our learners to reflect upon their current performance we are able to establish purposeful targets that will help them to achieve greater academic success. This model, which has been applied successfully in many schools, develops increased student ownership of their achievements with the additional support of both school and home networks.
Our model for Academic Review Days is cyclical to ensure that targets are fully reviewed in preparation for the next Academic Review Day in the Spring Term. Opportunity will be provided for learners to review their progress at set intervals following the Academic Review. Through this process we anticipate an increased sense of self-reflection and independence will be developed by our students.
The first Academic Review Day is November the 23rd 2016.
Additional information and guidance is available in the attached publications for students and parents.
