Why choose Sport and Physical Education?

5 C or above grades at GCSE

GCSE Science and PE an advantage

1. Physiological and Psychological Factors which Improve Performance

2. Socio-Cultural and Historical Effects on Participation in Physical Activity and their Influences on Performance

3. Projects   a/ Personal Exercise Program

                    b/ Project Investigation

A2 Units

4. Physiological, Biomechanical and Psychological Factors which Optimise Performance

5.  Factors Affecting the Nature and Development of Elite Performance

6.  Written Investigation – Analysis and Critical Evaluation of Factors which Optimise Performance

7.  Synoptic Assessment

Work load

4 lessons each week covering theory  (theory is often taught through practical lessons)

1 lesson every other week for the project

Homework is regularly given to back up work set in lessons

Exam questions are short answers rather than essay
