A few words from our Head Girl,

Hinchingbrooke Sixth Form is a great place to not only continue studying but to spend two amazing years of your life.

I am currently in year 13 and have spent almost a year and a half in the Sixth Form. Here at Hinchingbrooke there are many opportunities to get involved in sport, socials, charity and much more; both within with Sixth Form but also in the school as a whole.

We are amazingly privileged as a Sixth Form to be based in Hinchingbrooke House. The House is awesome, the grounds breath-taking. Winters spent in the old dinning room and summers out on the terrace, I have had some of my favourite times there; times I shall never forget with people I will always remember.

As Head Girl of Hinchingbrooke School and Sixth Form, I with the Head Boy represent the student, their views, ideas and opinions. We work closely alongside the teachers and students, in a team of Senior Students, to try and bridge the gap between staff and students. This has been a great learning experience for me and although hard work at times, I am thankful for the opportunity to represent such an amazing institute, one which I am very proud to be a part of.

...........And a few words from our Head Boy,

Hinchingbrooke's decision to keep with tradition and elect a Head Boy and Head Girl, along with the entire senior student team each year has shown itself to be a highly beneficial policy both for students and staff.

As Senior Students it is our job to bridge the gap between the student body and the teachers and ensure that a harmonious community spirit is upheld.

The Senior Student Team is split into the Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies, who lead and organise the team and act as the figureheads and ambassadors for the school.

There are then the House Captains, of whom one is male and one female for each of the houses, Cromwell, Montagu, Vesey and Pepys. The House Captains organise their respective house and help in organising inter-house sports matches and other house-based competitions.

There are four other sets of senior students, the Charity Reps, who lead Hinchingbrooke's wide-reaching and highly successful charity events; the Sports Captains who are in charge of wider sporting events; the Press Reps who organise the school bulletins and advertising, and finally the Performing Arts Reps, who help organise and run drama events. Together we operate as a highly cohesive team of twenty, leading the way forward in representing the students in addressing the teachers and vice versa.

As Head Boy and Head Girl we, along with our deputies, chair the School Council that brings together representatives from each year and allows them to voice their ideas and concerns on the issues that effect not only Hinchingbrooke but also the surrounding community.

It is our personal belief that being a Senior Student allows you to give back and make a difference to a school that invested in you. In doing so there is a high level of satisfaction in knowing that we are using our experiences a student to make the school better for all current and future students.

Hinchingbrooke's Senior Student team provides the missing link that many schools have, as we provide the platform that enables the students and teachers to come together in a more united school for the betterment of all.
