LAW

Why choose LAW

This course will give you valuable insights into the world of legal ideas, processes
and key Institutions. This course enables students to develop knowledge,

understanding and critical awareness of the structure, personnel and functions of the

English Legal System.  This subject links with History, Politics, Business Studies,

Sociology,  and Health and Social Care.

Entry requirements; A grade C in English language is preferred.

 

Brief Outline of the course:

All examinations are assessed through a written paper. There are no
coursework requirements.

Module 1. The English Legal System ;2hr exam (30% of A2)

Module 2. Sources of Law; 1 hr exam (20% of A2)

A2

Module 3: Criminal Law; 2hr exam (30% of A2)
Module 4: Criminal Law Special Study ; 11/2 hr exam ( 20% of A2)

Workload.

You will have 5 lessons per week.

You will be expected to keep up to date by watching current events on TV and

reading quality newspapers. You are encouraged to incorporate internet research into

working habits.

Course content is delivered via a range of teaching and learning activities which

include, lectures, small group presentations, discussions and debates and outside

speakers

Past questions are set for homework every two to three weeks.
