In Year 7, all students study either French or German.

In Year 8, students who have opted for an additional second foreign language will study Spanish within the Year 8 option block.

In Year 9, students continue to study one or two foreign langauges and will be asked to choose their 'option' subjects for Key Stage 4. All students are encouraged to continue with one or two foreign languages, but the study of a modern foreign language is no longer compulsory in Years 10 and 11.  End of Key Stage 3 National Curriculum Levels for Modern Foreign Languages are reported in Year 9.

In Years 10 and 11, students are prepared for GCSE examinations in their chosen language(s): French, German or Spanish.

In Years 12 and 13, students may choose to study French, German or Spanish at AS or A2 level.

In the course of the year, there is a residential trip to Spain, a Lower School French exchange to St Germain-en-Laye (Paris), and both a Lower and Middle School German exchange to Herrenberg. In addition, in the Sixth Form, trips to France, Germany and Spain are encouraged.
